Just had a wonderful experience shopping with Backcountry.com! I’ve never been camping before and recently agreed to go on a short camping trip to Yellowstone with some friends. I called up Backcountry and they helped me get set up with a sleeping bag, tent, & sleeping pad. They were very helpful and patient with me while we went through the many options they carry. The gear worked great and was happy to enjoy my first camping trip!

Purchased a jacket and boots. I received the jacket and boots within 4 days without paying for express shipping. The jacket was smaller than I expected. I chatted with a live agent and they were incredibly helpful. Within 5
Minutes I had a return shipping label and they reordered the jacket for me in the next larger size. Today I tried on the boots. (my fault I didn’t try them on immediately) The boots didn’t have the arch support I needed. Once again I began a live chat with an agent and immediately received a return shipping label with no questions or issues. I will order from back country again. Very impressed with how quickly I received the product and the customer service I received.
KayI’m pretty shocked that there are any negative reviews of Backcountry at all. I do a fair amount of camping/hiking and as such buy a lot of gear from several online companies, and I find Backcountry to have comparable prices, excellent shipping and easy return policies, PLUS they have quite possibly the best customer service I’ve ever experienced. LOOOVE this company, would recommend them to any and everyone and definitely plan to continue doing business with them.
I’ve had nothing bu positive experiences with them and I tend to return items about half the time.
Their customer service is great because they are one of the only online retailers that answer the phone right away.
I’ve ordered a day pack and hiking pants through them with no problems. Both my orders got here when they said it would and they are both quality products. I even got a sticker! I haven’t had to return anything, but I heard there’s a fee for that so watch out. I’m lucky I’ve liked everything I bought from them. I will be purchasing from them again.
Several orders for cycling gear with no issues, I’m careful to research products before ordering so have never needed to return or deal with customer service. Orders arrive as described and on time.

I have been looking for the perfect stainless double wall mug for a long time. I thought I had found it with a Starbucks “chubby mug” from back in 2005 era… but over time it got damaged, broken and was at the end of its life. I bought several online sorta like it but not one of them measured up. Then I accidentally found the BackCountry (Stanley) hard to tip mug. This has to be the very highest quality item of its type on the planet. Perfect craftsmanship, perfect finish, VACUUM double wall, not just full of air double walled, anti-slip bottom pad, perfect large easy to hold handle made of non-temp conducting materials with a very well fitted top cap that looks war-proof. To top it all off it was on special for only $17. I bought 4 of them. Wonder if I should have bought 400 to sell online – nobody will ever be able to top the quality and value of this product. Well done folks. You’ve renewed my faith in quality products at very fair prices. I’m a happy camper!
Only needed to call customer service once because i messed up the shipping address but i had no problem getting ahold of someone and they changed the address instantly. Been happy with the items i have purchased. There isnt free shipping on returns but their shipping label cost was cheaper than shipping it back myself. Good store for name brand winter clothing sales.
